At the beginning of the year, US testing institute “The Dental Advisor” presented its product awards in the various categories.
The “Direct Restorations” category saw VOCO‘s Ionolux being declared the glass ionomer cement winner, as it stands out not just because of its glass ionomer-specific advantages, but also for possessing those of a composite. One of its distinguishing characteristics is the fact that its setting time can be adjusted by light-curing.
The dentists trialling the product on behalf of the US testing institute unanimously agreed that Ionolux represents a significant improvement compared with conventional glass ionomer cements, being easy to use, possessing good handling qualities and not sticking to instruments. “I like the fact that Ionolux requires only one working step. There is no need to apply a bonding agent beforehand, nor a varnish afterwards. It also releases fluorides and it is radiopaque.“ Many reasons why Ionolux has deservedly earned this product award.
