So close to the natural tooth: Grandio disc multicolor

Permanent dental prostheses should not only be robust and durable, but should also provide a natural aesthetic appearance in order to fulfil the high demands of patients. Milled CAD-CAM materials, which are very similar to natural teeth in terms of both their appearance and their physical properties, are at a significant advantage in this respect. With Grandio disc multicolor, VOCO has developed an innovative nano-ceramic hybrid material that represents the ideal alternative to conventional ceramics. The product combines maximum aesthetics with tooth-like properties in terms of its strength and elasticity. This opens up new potential for permanent restorations.

In addition to the 15 mm Grandio disc multicolor, VOCO is supplementing the existing range with a new Grandio disc multicolor of 12 mm thickness. Practices and laboratories therefore benefit from a flexible solution for creating top quality permanent restorations - for results that impress with their longevity and natural appearance. The reduction in material for this version allows more cost-efficient work. The layer sizes for the new 12 mm version have been optimised, which means that the multicolor colour gradient with the so-called invisible layer technology is particularly suitable for small restorations in the premolar and molar areas.

Invisible Layer Technology

The multicolor version imitates the colour changes of natural teeth from the incisal edge to the cervical neck. The special composition of the material reflects and absorbs light to create a particularly intense chameleon effect, which allows the individual layers of the restoration to transition seamlessly into each other and produces a highly aesthetic colour gradient. This perfects the adjustment to visually match the natural dentition, leading to a positive effect on the whole of the aesthetic appearance.

Grandio disc multicolor is available in two thicknesses (12 mm and 15 mm), with a diameter of  98 mm. As with the 15 mm Grandio disc multicolor, the new 12 mm version is also available in the six shades A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1 and C2. The middle layer reproduces the specified basic shade of the tooth. In addition to the multicolor variants, Grandio disc is also available in a monochromatic version in two translucency levels, whereby LT (low translucent) is particularly suitable for restorations in the anterior region and HT (high translucent) for restorations in the posterior region.

The 12 mm disc is processed in the same way as the 15 mm Grandio disc multicolor within the milling machines. An overview of the numerous Trusted Partners and the milling strategies can be found here
