Certified Gold partner: VOCO Grandio disc now compatible with Amann Girrbach milling devices

For a while now, composites have not only been suitable as restorative materials: they have also been firmly established in CAD/CAM prosthetics and provide first-class dentures that impress in terms of stability and aesthetics as well as handling. In addition to an excellent material, the milling device also plays a decisive role in achieving the perfect result. Thanks to a new collaboration between the dental manufacturer VOCO and Amann Girrbach AG, the full service provider for dental CAD/CAM technology, it is now possible to use the nanoceramic hybrid material Grandio disc in the Ceramill Matik and Ceramill Motion milling devices with a specially validated milling strategy – for dentures that meet the highest demands.

An elaborate multi-stage process worked out that material and milling devices are ideally matched: all decisive parameters were tested intensively – from general feasibility to material validation and integration. With the Gold partnership, VOCO and Amann Girrbach are thus nurturing the most demanding collaboration that offers users maximum comfort and safety. It is particularly practical that Grandio disc is both listed in the CAD software (ceramill Mind) and included as a milling strategy on the Amann Girrbach devices.

About Grandio disc

Thanks to a filler content of 86% by weight, Grandio disc stands out with far superior material strength. In addition, the flexural strength also shows values that are otherwise only achieved with silicate ceramics, whereby Grandio disc is significantly more antagonist-friendly. The fact that the material can be milled very finely and is easy to polish, allowing the restoration to both fit perfectly and meet high aesthetic demands, are further advantages. The extensive range of colours in two levels of translucency also supports a natural look.

Extensive composite strategy

In addition, all Amann Girrbach milling devices have a universal composite strategy. This means that all other milling materials from VOCO can also be processed on the CAD/CAM specialist’s milling devices: Grandio blocs (nanoceramic hybrid CAD/CAM block), Structur CAD (CAD/CAM composite for temporary restorations) and CediTEC DT (CAD/CAM composite for denture teeth).
